Heating Maintenance Services

Preventative maintenance from Watts Heating and Cooling can help you save on energy costs, reduce expensive repairs, and extend your equipment’s life. Much like your car, your HVAC equipment needs regular maintenance–even when it is working normally. Watts offers maintenance agreements for regular check-ups to maximize the life expectancy of your system, in addition to as-needed maintenance for all of your HVAC equipment.

Furnace Maintenance

As a leading heating, cooling, and indoor air quality company in Gladstone, Oregon, your comfort and well-being are our top priorities, which is why our team offers comprehensive furnace maintenance. With regular maintenance–at least once a year–you will prevent small problems from becoming big problems and ensure optimal performance of your HVAC system. We maintain your furnace and ensure it’s in prime condition, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking down when you need it most.

Heat Pump Maintenance

Your heat pump system works twice as hard as a single heating system because it alone provides both your heating and cooling. With a heat pump system, you are using a 2-for-1 system. Consequently, your heat pump requires biannual maintenance. With our maintenance agreements, these appointments are automatically on our schedule, providing added convenience. Contact Watts Heating and Cooling today to schedule your heat pump maintenance appointment.

Fan Coil Maintenance

The fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump system. It includes the fan and the heating/cooling coil. The fan coil is designed for a particular refrigerant, so it must be matched with the heat pump or air conditioner. There are several important maintenance tasks that we recommend in addition to yearly fan coil maintenance with a Watts’ technician.

Recommended Fan Coil Maintenance

Daily:

  • Inspect the exterior of the FCU and remove any debris.

Monthly:

  • Inspect the interior of the FCU.
  • Remove dust on the motor and fan.
  • Inspect the belts and replace them if needed.
  • Inspect the filter replace if needed.

Seasonally:

  • Lubricate the motor with a 20-weight, non-detergent oil. Some FCUs require more frequent lubrication. For example, those operating in especially dusty weather should be lubricated more often. Keep in mind over-oiling could reduce motor life. Do not oil the bearings.
  • Clean the drain area to ensure air flow.
  • Brush and vacuum the coil.

Annually:

  • Schedule annual maintenance with a Watts’ technician.

Packaged Unit Maintenance

Packaged units are self-contained systems located outside of the home, mounted on the ground or the roof, and ducted into the home. As with all HVAC systems, packaged unit maintenance is crucial to the longevity and effectiveness of your unit. Depending on the type of packaged unit your home has, we recommend different maintenance frequencies. Contact your Gladstone area HVAC experts, Watts Heating and Cooling, to find out what maintenance we recommend for your system.

Hybrid Heat Maintenance

Hybrid Heat systems combine the benefits of intelligent control for both gas and electric heating, so no matter what the temperature is outside, a Hybrid Heat system will automatically select the fuel source most efficient for your home. To keep your highly efficient system in prime working condition, ensure the Hybrid Heat unit receives yearly maintenance. Watts makes this easy with our maintenance agreements, which also save you money on performance tune-ups. If you are looking to switch to a more efficient system, like Hybrid Heat, schedule an appointment with Watts for heating installation.

Ductless System Maintenance

Ductless system heating is highly effective as well as energy efficient. If you have considered using a ductless heating system in your Gladstone area home, or already enjoy one and are looking for trained experts for repair and biannual maintenance, Watts is here to help.

Our expert technicians have years of experience working with ductless HVAC systems, and we bring this experience right to your door. Ductless heating systems use a heat pump to provide the heating and cooling your home needs to be comfortable, so it is critical to work with experts like ours for installation, repair, maintenance, and replacement. Contact Watts today to request a quote for ductless system maintenance.

Boiler Maintenance

If your home has hot water radiators in each room for heat, you have a boiler to heat the water. As your main source of heat, maintaining your boiler is essential to the comfort of your home. Watts’ HVAC technicians have the tools and experience to maintain and repair your boiler to keep your system working properly and efficiently.

Water Heater Maintenance

Aside from heating and cooling, your water heater is typically the largest energy user in the home. With proper maintenance, these systems can last about 10 years. Ensure your water heater maintenance is up to date by scheduling an appointment with Watts today.

Garage Heater Maintenance

If you have a garage heater, you probably want to keep it working optimally–especially in the winter–so you can continue utilizing the space. We’re right there with you, and, as HVAC experts, we recommend regular maintenance for continued performance. Request a quote today for garage heater maintenance.

Generator Maintenance

Standby Power Generators can help you maintain comfort and a relatively normal life during power outages by supplying an automatic backup power source to your home. If you have a standby power generator, maintaining and repairing when necessary can help keep the unit in good working order. After all, having a backup generator that doesn’t work defeats its purpose. If your generator isn’t working as efficiently as usual, or it’s simply been awhile since it received maintenance, schedule an appointment for standby generator maintenance today.
